Artist Spotlight: Vanastro

Who are you and what do you do?
I’m Cody, half of VanJet Productions, and I do all things music. Record, play, listen.

Where do you find the most inspiration?
My wife and partner. She has encouraged me more than anyone ever has, and has given me the confidence to pursue my art.

Who/what are your biggest influences?
The thing that influences me the most, are people who don’t give up on their dream and continue to pursue it through hardships.

What is your go-to album/artist right now?
Demob Happy - Dream Soda

Do you have a favorite artist or piece of art?
John Bramblitt is a great artist and creates crazy paintings with texture and depth. I really enjoy his painting of the hatter.

What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given, not necessarily related to art?
My wife told me once, in relation to my music, that no one can do what I can do, and so I should just do it.

If you had to describe your artistic style in three words, what would they be?
Loud, Dark, Funny

Who would you like to collaborate with?
I’d love to write a song with Josh Homme.

What is a useless talent you possess?
I can make my tongue a clover shape.

What is your comfort food?
Pizza, all the pizza.

What is next for you?
Hopefully to release a couple of albums in the next year as well as publish some of a comic book I’m working on.
